1- The Khaplu Valley is almost 110 kilometres (68 mi) from Skardu and two hours by jeep. It is a sprawling village located at the confluence of the Indus and the Shyok River in Pakistan. Khaplu is a base for trekking into the Hushe valley which leads to Masherbrum Mountains.
2- The Shigar Valley is a valley in Gilgit Baltistan in northern Pakistan that is watered by the Shigar River, and centred on the town of Shigar. The valley stretches about 170 km from Skardu to Askole and is the gateway to the high mountains of the Karakoram.
3- The Kachura Lakes are two lakes in the Skardu , The lakes, at 2,500 metres, Upper Kachura Lake and Lower Kachura Lake.The latter is also known as Shangrila Lake and is within a tourist resort named Shangrila Resort outside the town of Skardu.
4- The Cold Desert, also known as the Katpana Desert or Biama Nakpo, is a high-altitude desert located near Skardu. The desert contains expanses of large sand dunes that are sometimes covered in snow during winter. The portion most visited is located near Skardu Airport.
5- Manthokha Waterfall is a waterfall located in Kharmang Valley, Skardu, the extreme northern region of Pakistan. This waterfall is approx 180 feet high from ground and located almost 80 kilometres away from downtown Skardu.
